The challenge was to create a commemorative anniversary logo design that would capture the significance of reaching 70 years in business. Bowers & Jones needed a design that reflected their premium position in the marketplace, conveyed the magnitude of this achievement, and maintained alignment with their established brand identity. The logo needed to work across multiple applications, from digital platforms to printed materials, whilst celebrating this momentous milestone with the dignity and sophistication befitting their industry-leading reputation.

Our Design Process

Our anniversary logo design process began with understanding the weight of seven decades in business and what this milestone meant to Bowers & Jones. We recognised that this wasn’t just about creating a logo but about crafting a symbol that would honour their journey and achievements. The design needed to communicate prestige, longevity, and success whilst remaining true to their brand essence.

The centrepiece of our anniversary logo design features the bold “70 YEARS” typography, where the circular “0” cleverly represents the rolling mills and metalwork that define their business operations. This subtle nod to their “Keeping Mills Rolling” heritage is elegantly framed by traditional laurel wreaths that symbolise victory and achievement. We chose a sophisticated navy blue background to convey trust and reliability, qualities that have defined Bowers & Jones throughout their seven decades. The inclusion of their signature green crown element maintains brand consistency whilst adding a regal touch that befits this platinum anniversary.

Typography played a crucial role in our anniversary logo design approach. We selected clean, authoritative fonts that would ensure excellent legibility across all applications, from large-format banners to small digital assets. The careful balance between the celebratory “CELEBRATING” text and the prominent “70 YEARS” creates a hierarchy that immediately communicates the message whilst maintaining visual impact and memorability.
