STRONGER FROM THE START

Brand Strategy That Starts the Right Conversations

Stronger Beginnings s the work of Samantha Billingham, and from the start it needed a brand strategy as clear and confident as she is. Samantha is a domestic abuse survivor, advocate and trainer who helps workplaces recognise and respond to coercive control and domestic abuse. Through her ABC Framework, short for Appearance, Behaviour and Conversation, she gives employers across every sector a simple, practical way to spot the early warning signs and know what to do next. From HR professionals to senior leaders, safeguarding officers to business owners, her training turns awareness into action. It is brave, important work, and the brand had to do it justice.

Samantha came to us with a powerful mission but no real identity to carry it forward. She needed a brand that felt professional enough to sit in front of HR teams and senior leaders, yet human enough to reflect the lived experience at the heart of everything she does. The brief was a genuine balancing act. We had to build something approachable and reassuring around a subject most people find difficult to talk about, without ever making light of how serious it is. Get the tone wrong in either direction and the whole thing falls down.

Got a Brand Strategy Challenge Like This?

Our Approach to Brand Strategy

We started where any good brand strategy should begin, with conversations. Working closely with Samantha, we dug into who she helps, how she wants people to feel when they find her, and what makes her approach genuinely different. Her story is the brand, so everything we created had to lead with her voice and her lived experience rather than bury them beneath corporate gloss.

With the strategy agreed, it shaped every decision that followed. At the heart of the identity sits a phoenix, wings sweeping upward, a quiet nod to rising stronger and to the beginnings Samantha helps people reach. We paired it with a warm, hopeful gradient that runs from deep magenta through to blue and on into gold, confident and human rather than clinical or cold. The brand needed to feel safe, because for many of the people Samantha reaches, work is one of the few safe places they have. The finished identity is warm and trustworthy, equally at home in a boardroom or a quiet conversation.

Samantha also needed somewhere to send people, so we carried the brand strategy straight through into a website built around the same calm, confident feel. Every page was developed alongside her, keeping the words and the design true to who she is and the people she serves. The result gives Stronger Beginnings a single, joined-up presence, one that does real justice to the difference Samantha is making in workplaces across the country.
